Founded in 1883, Coventry have embarked on a journey rife with history and moments for fans to remember. The club originally founded under the name Singers FC and adopted their current name, Coventry City, in 1898. They joined the Football League in 1919 and won their only major trophy in 1987 – a 3-2 FA Cup Final triumph over Tottenham Hotspur. Coventry have also reached the semi-finals of the League Cup twice, featuring in 1981 ands 1990.

As for European Competition, the Sky Blues have qualified twice in their history. In the 1970/71 campaign, the club competed in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup – now known as the Europa League – and reached the second round. The second time was in the 1987/88 season but were unable to participate due to the ban on English clubs at that time following the Heysel disaster.

Steve Orgizovic holds the record for most club appearances, featuring 601 times for Coventry from 1984 to 2000. Clarrie Bourton remains the club’s all-time top goalscorer, netting 182 goals between 1931 and 1937.
